More street shots

Mr. Messenger. Like the ones in New York. I wonder what he was carrying in his bag.

I wish I could hear what he was talking about.

And I wish I knew what he was looking at.

The thinking man.....

Maybe I should have worn a longer tie. Maybe I should have worn another suit. Maybe I should have......

Sunset @ Tintern

This is an attempt at capturing the sunset on my balcony. These pictures get really tricky when they are shot towards the sun. I would have loved to see more of the building below the sky, but it wasn't my focus of this picture, so it had to be weighed out against the sunset. I don't know if using a polzerised filter would have helped with that, but none the less, I did manage to capture an awesome looking sunset.
More practice is needed with the polerizing filter. Hopefully I'll get some clear blue skies soon in Melbourne as it's the start of winter and the weather just plunges to shits. Things you have to live with when you're in Melbourne.

The tracks the tracks!

My unused semi slicks, it should be on the car and not catching the rain at the side.

This car was smoking his tires while braking hard for the corner. Happened quite afew times, wonder how fast he was going. Maybe he had really bad brakes or something.

And Tadah! The GTR finally seen on the tracks. It was so silent, so subtle you didn't even think it was anything much till you walk up to the computer screen where the timings were posted and you just basically squirm. It's fast! And I mean really FAST! What a lovely car. YUM!

The Atom. A Shell of bars with a supercharged Honda Type R, K20. Its a lean mean fighting machine. It was interesting to see it after watching Top gear. Weighs just about an ounce with a fast engine means you fly through the tracks, which it did.

Dangereous?

A dangerous place to be having brunch? This was taken in a cafe called Gas near the South Melbourne Market. This family was having something to eat when I caught this picture of them sitting under the sign.
The cafe had really nice decor, half brick half plastered walls. I couldn't say anything about the food because I didn't eat there, but Melbourne is well known for their individual boutique cafes which serve the best coffee, food and deserts.

People on the streets

As you can guess, this is the brush from the automated road sweeper.

Is he watching out for trams?

There was a fire happening in one of the buildings on Swanston street. I caught this fireman rushing away with a first aid kit. The photo seems abit over exposed though. Was trying to make the picture more dramatic by getting him more in focus and the crowd more blurred but by the time I setup the camera, he was gone already.

This guy was standing at the opening of a door way looking at something, or maybe thinking, I couldn't tell. He just looks very proper, a gentleman I would say.
One of my favourite pictures of the day. This kid saw me sitting at the steps to GPO and as he walked past, threw a couple of glances back at me. I think he just wanted his picture taken, or was really curious why I was sitting there with a camera in my hands. Anyhows, a nice picture in my opinion.

A different view?

The Melbourne replication of The Eye in London. Impressive it may seem, but work it does not. For some reason, this Ferris wheel has not started operation since completion, plastic covers still plastered on every cabin, and the area deserted. I'm guessing a lack of funding of some sort.
